The Patriotic Playlist You Need For The 4th of July

Today is the first day of July (where is this summer going?!), which means the arguably biggest/most important U.S. holiday of the summer is in three days. For me, the 4th of July has always been the sign that summer is truly here, and I love doing typical summer activities to celebrate it: cookouts, pool parties, festivals, baseball games, boating, day drinking, etc. No matter where you live in the United States, there’s always something going on to celebrate Independence Day. To quote Schmidt from one of my favorite shows, New Girl, “The sexiest holiday is 4th of July - Independence Day Obviously...” And the sexiest holiday is not complete without the perfect list of patriotic songs to set the mood! Check out these cliché titles I’ve rounded up that need to be a part of your 4th of July - no matter what you’re doing to celebrate!

1. Party in the USA, Miley Cyrus

2. This Is America, Childish Gambino

3. Firework, Katy Perry

4. American Idiot, Green Day

5. American Boy, Estelle and Kanye West

6. National Anthem, Lana Del Rey

7. Made in the USA, Demi Lovato

8. Party Rock Anthem, LMFAO

9. America, Imagine Dragons

10. Surfin’ USA, Beach Boys

11. American Woman, Lenny Kravitz

12. American Pie, Don McLean

Hope everyone has a wonderful 4th of July! And if you're from the United States, take some time to remember how valuable and sought after your freedom is. Be grateful because other people in the world weren't as lucky as some of us and are fighting for their freedom (and their lives) everyday.

Let me know what you're doing to celebrate the 4th!

Thanks for reading!
